Frequently Asked Questions
Are you licensed to operate UAVs commercially?
Yes. Aerial Cornwall has Operational Authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for commercial operation. This means we have completed all the necessary training, examinations and paperwork to operate UAVs (drones) for commercial purposes. All of our pilots have a remote pilot qualification and have the relevant training to fly safely and legally.
Are you insured to do this work?
Yes, we are fully insured up to £5 million public liability and we always operate within the guidelines stated in our Operations Manual.
What is the flying range?
We can fly up to 500 metres (1640 feet) horizontally and up to 400 feet (120 metres) vertically.
How long can you fly for?
It varies with the weather and the distance needed to fly, but generally up to 35 minutes with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro and 20 minutes with the DJI Inspire 2 per flight. Spare batteries are always available so multiple flights can be carried out at any location.

We have several drones depending on what’s needed. We can capture stills up to 20 megapixels and video up to 5K resolution.
Can you fly above water?
